Today, April 26th is Administrative Professionals’ Day and if you forgot you still have time to recognize your administrative team.
No matter if you have a full administrative staff, a full time secretary, a part-time secretary or a volunteer or volunteers who help you complete office tasks this is an important day for them.
Many of us as pastors get the entire month of October to be given gifts and be recognized while the other staff in our office sit by and watch.
Do not forget your administrators today. Here is why:
Administrative Work Is Often Thankless
Answering the phone, keeping the calender, producing the bulletins or newsletter are vital tasks of the church life but many times these tasks are done without any “thanks” said or recognition given.
Administrative staff in the church are the most often overlooked staff
Pastors are recognized at every opportunity by the members. Administrative staff: not so much.
The Support They Provide is Incredible
The tasks of the administrative professional in the church is an incredible task involving lots of trust and discretion. Many times the administrative staff deals with issues before we do and their discernment is vital.
It is an Encouragement
Recognize your administrative team today for no other reason than it is a great encouragement to them which is something you should take seriously in your ministry. Do not underestimate the impact a personal card and a gift can have.
So if you forgot, hurry out and get some flowers, a card, or something else nice before the day is out. You will not regret it.
