Get More Productive With These 3 Apps – by Jonathan Pearson

Productivity has long been a passion and kind of hobby for me. In fact, I’m releasing an ebook tomorrow geared to help pastors (and anyone really) get things organized so they can do what they really want to do and are called to do.Get More Productive With These 3 Apps - by Jonathan Pearson

I’ve tried hundreds (maybe thousands) of apps and websites for productivity. I’ve found some that work and some that I just couldn’t find the value in. Here are 3, though, that I’ve found to be really good at in specialized area.

Day One

An iOS and Mac app for journaling. This app is an absolute joy to use. It syncs well, lets you upload photos to your entires, and even pulls in your location and current weather when you journal. It supports markdown and is always getting updated. I have hundreds of journal entries in here from my times with God and just random thoughts I have throughout the day. I’ve also kept Riley’s baby book in Day One. Last year for Christmas, I had the first 6 months of the book printed for my wife. It’s been a great tool.

Habit list

Want to form a habit? Habit List lets you track your habits and makes sure you’re doing that thing everyday so you can make it a habit. The idea is that you’ll see after a few days that you’re doing well and you won’t want to break the chain (known also as the Seinfeld Method). This is a great tool if you’re looking to start working out, drinking water, or just about anything.

Pomodora Timer

There’s an idea in productivity that if you focus hard core for 25-30 minutes on something you can get more done than you can by trying to marathon it. You spend that time working on your project, then you take a short break. You can repeat this cycle over and over. Pomodora Timer lets you keep up with all of your times.

Any other apps you can add?
